Industrial Next

Freelance UI/UX Design
I was contracted to work for a startup tech company called IndustrialNext in the spring of 2022. I had several roles including UI and industrial designer, and this work was for an enterprise software for the company's main product: smart factory tools that integrated machine learning to reduce operator error and increase factory floor efficiency.

Context
Current factory management software is powerful, but obtuse, and stale. Western manufacturers are often working with smaller quantities than Asian factories, and are often working with systems that aren't flexible or adaptable.

There is a need for factory management software that uses smarter technology and adaptive AI to move from project to project more smoothly than the industry standards.
Our Approach
The IndustrialNext angle relies on machine learning baked into its tools to improve the manufacturing process at each state. By using powerful optics and cloud computing, we can enable individual tools to speak to each other, tools to communicate within groups, and groups to navigate the factory floor in smarter, mobile units.

The first IndustrialNext product is the CyberSight Camera, which provides the Optical foundation for much of the machine learning needed to process.
The Goal

1.

Define a feature set and monetization roadmap for IndustrialNext's product line.

2.

Understand the operators of factory equipment to interpret their needs, and find ways IndustrialNext can improve their workflow.

3.

Present a research-backed prototype to potential investors, showing clear marketable strengths and advantages of the IndustrialNext platform.

Low-Fidelity Visualization
For the Industrial Next project, we used low-fidelity visualization process to explore different design concepts quickly and get early feedback from stakeholders and end-users. This helped us to refine the design and ensure that the final product meets the needs of the target users. We used digital tools such as Figma and Sketch to create and share our low-fidelity visualizations with the team.
Brand Identity Visualization
The UI look and feel of the Industrial Next software was developed through a collaborative design process between the UX designers, developers, and stakeholders. The process involved researching and analyzing user needs, creating wireframes and prototypes, and testing with users to gather feedback and make improvements. The design team used a modern, minimalist aesthetic with a focus on clear typography and intuitive navigation to create a clean and user-friendly interface that meets the needs of the target users. Iterative design cycles allowed the team to refine and improve the UI look and feel until a final design was achieved that met the requirements of the project.
Prototype Visualization
The goal of the prototype visualization is to create a working model of the user interface design that can be tested and evaluated by stakeholders and end-users. Through the prototype, we aim to simulate the actual user experience and identify any usability issues or areas for improvement.

We communicate the features of the prototype through interactive demonstrations and walkthroughs that highlight the key functionalities and interactions of the interface. This allows stakeholders and end-users to provide feedback and suggestions for improving the user experience before the final
